Originally from Sri Lanka, I hold a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Cincinnati, where I also fulfilled the requirements for a cognate in Musicology at the College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), and have an undergraduate (LL.B.) and master’s (LL.M.) degrees in Law and Socio-legal Studies from the University of London and the University of Kent, respectively. My research experience spans nonprofit, federal contracting, and academia.
Additionally, I am a musician and arts leader. I hold Associate (ATCL) and Licentiate (LTCL) diplomas in piano performance from Trinity College, London and am a classically trained singer (lyric soprano). I am the collaborative pianist at Bethany Lutheran Church, Co-founding Director of the Summer Sundays concert series, and perform in the newly formed Crystal Keys Trio, all based in Crystal Lake, IL. Outside of my work, I enjoy cooking, board games, and caring for my fur-babies Katy and Teche.
